The portal is a Rare minion from the Arcane faction, allowing units to be propelled forward with a move like a Valkyrie. Piece designs are very out of date.

Strategy: Portal Edit

Portals are great in a strategy where the player tries to overwhelm its opponent with early attacks. It can teleport champions that have limited mobility three rows forwards in one turn. Putting it in a army with a Windmage or Harpy gives a player the ability to push ally pieces with low mobility to the back row of the enemy in two turns. In addition, Portals synergize extremely well with stall strategies, as it allows for easy control of the centre of the board, allowing for maximum square domination for minimum time. A nice bonus is that it cannot be effectively blocked by a Wisp, as you can immediately Portal out enemy units.

Strength: Portal Edit

Portals excel at moving champions with low mobility further out on the board. Behemoths, Berserkers, Legionaries, and Giant Slimes are decent choices to place behind portals. In addition, Portals also allow for piece development without breaking minion cover for mid to late game pieces, such as Kings and Queens. Portal's passives also prevent it from being poisoned, petrified, or frozen. Portal can also teleport opponent pieces, although this is rarely used since an enemy at the ability target is usually a very dangerous threat to you.

Weakness: Portal Edit

Portals themselves are immobile. Unless a Ghost, Ghast, or other place-swapping piece is used, they cannot be moved. Thus, some regard them as dead pieces once they've teleported the champion needed to be moved.

Portals are not promotable, making them almost useless in the endgame.
