Strategy: Knight[]

Strength: Knight[]

Due to the relative rareness of its L-shaped attacks, it is difficult for an opponent to inhibit the control a knight can exert in clumped up positions; the knight's attacks cannot be blocked. This characteristic makes usage of knights almost essential for the early and mid game, as their trading prowess and cost efficiently is nearly unrivaled among many champions.

The knight's specialty is setting up forks, or a maneuver where a single piece attacks two other pieces at once, both of which are normally very important or expensive pieces. Generally, players will attack the king and another vulnerable piece, which puts them at a great advantage due to the knight's relative cheapness. Once you have the Knight+++, it can defeat most units that can block if it attacks orthogonally.

Weakness: Knight[]

Due to the limited range on its attacks, the knight takes a very long time to move across the board compared to many other pieces. This makes its endgame very weak due to the low amount of pieces and open board. Especially when there are very few pieces on the board, the knight cannot control enough spaces at once until adequately upgraded, and even then it has trouble keeping control over mobile pieces.

Another weakness is that the knight without upgrades can only control either light or dark squares on any given turn. Until upgrading the piece, this vulnerability makes it somewhat predictable and easy to play around, especially when many pieces have already been traded.
