The Basilisk is an epic Minion unit from the Forest Box. It has the Ability (Ranged) Petrify.

If you want to see its current moveset or any other unit's moveset (or the moveset it had in any version from 0.37 to 0.56 both included) here is the link (credits to main_gj): http://igniam.xyz/tools/ceo-gallery.html

V0.56 info:

Base Basilisk (cost 2): It has range 1 diagonally forward move or attack and range 1 forward ranged petrify, making the petrified enemy unit unable to act for 5 turns.

Basilisk+ (cost 3): It gains range 1 backwards move only.

Basilisk++ (cost 4): It gains range 2 diagonally forward move only.

Basilisk+++ (cost 5): It gains knight-like forward teleport from starting position, and teleport from starting position to 3 squares forward, 2 left or right.

All tiers promote to their corresponding Dragon tier when they reach the last row.

Strategy: Basilisk[]

Basilisks's attacks along with its ability to petrify offer decent advantage over other minions, and help to penetrate defenses in balanced offensive armies.

Strength: Basilisk[]

Good frontal coverage (similar to Militia), augmented by their ability to Petrify units directly in front of them, nullifying what would otherwise be a blind spot. Two or more Basilisks in a line can be difficult to break through. They also promote to an easy-checkmating dragon.

Weakness: Basilisk[]

Basilisks are slow and forward-facing, especially at lower tiers, and their moderate cost makes them inefficient for Minion trades. In particular, the Militia covers the same three squares as the Basilisk. Additionally, Basilisks are restricted to squares of a single color, a flaw which is only partially remedied by upgrading to a higher tier. Due to these square restrictions, a Basilisk is often unable to take advantage of having petrified an important piece, relying on other pieces to kill petrified pieces.
